UNIVERSAL DESIGN –
QUIET ZONES AND SENSORY ROOMS
- Capgemini has adopted universal design principles for its corporate real estate portfolio – ensuring sensory needs (lighting, noise, and textures) are accounted for in space design by default and offering a variety of workspaces to suit different needs.
- Their ambition is to designate ~20% of office space as “Quiet Zones”, located away from high-traffic areas and equipped with soundproofing solutions – supported by signage outlining etiquette for minimizing noise.
- Where possible, Capgemini is also creating “Sensory Rooms” – offering a dedicated space for colleagues to relax and reset in a calming environment.
